Bookmarks

Something different for a change.. little bookmarks. Made from a pre-scored 12cm x 12cm card blank.  Used the Hougie board to score a cross corner to corner on one half of the card. Then cut off most of the other half leaving just 3cm which was then covered in patterned paper.  Folded the scores and glued the front before adding a triangle of pattered paper.  Inked the edges wih a light brown before adding the little topper.  The topper is at an angle so that when the book mark is in place over the corner of the book the little image is the right way up.
They are very sturdy little book marks.. might make some more!

When the crafty bug gets you...

Just a quick note as I'm recovering from the crafty bug! There's double sided tape, scraps of paper and glitter everywhere! I've made loads and loads of cards.. and this is the really surprising thing.. they are not all 6"x6"! infact they are mostly A5 and 12cm x 12cm.. small cards! and simple!! I look at cards that sell in shops and think how basic they are.. so with a wee Bluedaisy twist I have created my own "small and simple" cards.. with matching tags (obviously!).. and its been great fun!!

Not sure why the flash didn't work on these photos.. must be too sunny (despite the wind and rain!)

Pheobe Ketto

A new addiction!  Pheobe Ketto from Stampingbella.  She is lovely! Brilliant quality stamp and so nice to colour!

Used Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured her with Copics.

So quick and easy to colour I made a wee tag to go with it!
The papers are from Prima (Jack n' Jill collection).  Dies used are a mix of Nesties, Marianne Designs, and Cuttlebug.. all cut on the CB (of course!)

This is a great flower die from Marianne Designs - the wee button in the middle is just so cute!

Cute wee cat

A change from the girls.. all my cards have been girls recently so here is a wee cat for a change - love this Lily of Valley image.  Papers are from the Bird Song pack - lovely colours!

Tattie Button and Bird Song

Here's the lovely little Tattie Button - coloured with ProMarkers and Copics.
The inspiration for this card was the gorgeous papers which I HAD to get from http://www.kraftzatkimz.co.uk/ in East Calder - brilliant to have a great new craft shop on my doorstep!
The paper collection is called Bird Song.  Beeeeautiful!!

Here's Mitsy!

Looking ever so cute yesterday afternoon - lazing in the warmth while the weather outside was wild!

The last of the browns and blues!

The last of the browns and blues.. at least for now!  I'm thinking this could be one of my most fav colour combos!  I might NEED to get another set of these papers from Stampin' Up!
The flower on the card is from Prima. The antique lace is from Ribbon Girl (great online store!!)

And on the same theme as the last post.. but using a Tattie Button stamp this time!

Browns and Blues

Made using one of the paper collections from Stampin' Up along with a Gorjuss girl coloured with ProMarkers.  Made the wee tag to go with it.. using up the scraps.
What to do now??

Pastel Get Well

This is so NOT my usual colour scheme.  The papers are from the Cottontail collection from Craftwork Cards. Not entirely sure why I bought them!  Nice papers if you like pastels - the finish is pearlescent which doesn't really show up on the pic.
Back to the old formula for this card!  Lovin' this little Gorjuss girl.

Papers used are Bo Bunny (Vicki B) and Fancy Pants (Beach Babe).. and some Bazzil card stock (the orange peel finish (lovely!!).

Birthday Butterfly - Card and Tag

Two things are inspiring me at the moment...
1.  punches and dies that I've not used for ages
2.  using up the many millions of scraps of paper I have!
oh, and 3...
making cute little tags to go with the cards!

The dies used here are all Quickutz - not used them for ages!  Cut them on the Cuttlebug though as the QK tool is tiring to use.

I've also managed to tidy my craft room this morning - so much so you can nearly (!!) see the floor!

And I did a bit of housework (bah!)

Time for lunch now!

Just using up some scraps of paper. I just love this little flower pot cards. So effective! All the credit for me being inspired to make these goes to the lovely Gill over at Perfect Papercrafts - check out her great new blog!

Now what to make next??  I still have some scraps of these papers to use ... so maybe some tags or toppers!

Pin Wheel Flower

First attempt at a pin wheel flower. Really simple to do. The papers on this card are from the Spring Feast collection.  Lovely!  Used some scraps of Bazzil and Kraft card to mat and layer. Now to use all the left overs to make some wee tags or something!

Oh, and I did find something on the QVC craft day that I NEEDED (!!).. more Bazzil!  Well, you can never have toooooo much!! All those lovely colours and textures.. too good to use!!
Another card with Warren. Coloured with Copics this time. Also had a shot at making a rosette - surprisingly easy with the Hougie Board. Think I might make some more!

And another little owl card.. just a wee thank you note this time. Not sure I like the butterflies but they are there now!!
This is Warren.. isn't he cute! Coloured with Pro Markers. Papers are Bazzil Cardstock and two co-ordinating paper from Spring Feast by First Edition Paper.

This little guy below was made just using some scraps of the paper I used in the card above.  The stamp for the grass is from Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes.  It's a Stampin' Up sentiment too.
And some more using scraps.  I think I could be developing an addiction to making little tags!  These were so simple to make.  The tree is a Sizzix die "Home Sweet Home #2" which I've had for ages. I really should use my dies more often! I tend to forget what I have!

Busy watching QVC craft day today.  Not seen anything I want to buy yet.

Fathers Day

Straight from this months edition of Crafts Beautiful using the template in the magazine. Really effective and easy to do!

My attempt at caramel shortbread this afternoon!

Double Sprinkles

Some cards and tags made from the new Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD from Polkadoodles. It's a great collection - great colours and easy to work with!
The card below is 8"x8". I've not added a sentiment yet.
What to do today?? The weather isn't great.  Very heavy rain showers and a bit windy.  Sarah has just announced (with great excitement!) that it's snowing!!  It's the blossom from the hawthorn trees getting blown about.. looks like snow!
Time for a cup of tea I think.. and a wee read of this months Crafts Beautiful..  For some inspiration!

Lots of Little Things!

Been busy making little things.. some tags!  Don't seem to have the concentration (or time!) to make cards at the moment but don't feel too bad about it as at least I'm making some little things!

oh... and I should add.. I am just LOVIN' Bakers Twine.. here in the pink.. got to get some more!!  NEED all the colours!!

The other two members of the "Tricky Trio"!
Freckles and Murphy... taking it easy over the bank holiday weekend! It's a hard life being a cat... no, really, it is!!
Twit Twoo!  This is one of my new stamps from Paper Artsy.  I'm never quite sure what to do with lots of small stamps so this is very much a starter for ten!

I don't think I like the butterflies but... too late!

Cupcakes!

In the true spirit of the Bank Holiday we went for a wee treat this afternoon - The Truly Scrumptious Cupcake Cafe! Lovely lunch and then these gorgeous and yummy cupcakes!

Fun in the sun!

No prizes for guessing where we went today!  Blair Drummond Safari Park.  Brilliant day out and great weather.  It was really busy and the order of the day was BBQ!

Sarah had great fun on the dodgems, bouncy castle, and a few other fairground rides, including the tea cups! (good practice for Disney later this year!)  I'm loving my pic of the rhino - so clear. And it wasnt taken with a zoom lens. It really was that close!   The lions were mostly sleeping.. just like our cats at home!  The Californian Sea Lions were having great fun though, one had a hold of a hose and was trying to catch the water to drink it. This wasn't even the organised show!

Having great fun on your own doorstep really makes you appreciate the UK. If we could just guarantee the weather!

Not got much time to blog today so just a quick upload of a couple of card pics.  This one is made from Fancy Pants Beach Babe papers and Marianne Designs dies. No sentiment as yet as I'm not sure who this one will be for.  The labels inside are die cut and stamped using some of the latest releases from Whimsy Stamps.  Very handy little additions!!

I'm loving these wee owls below...  these are made with one of the new Stampin Up punches from the Mini Catalogue.  This was my first attempt playing with some scraps of paper.  The sentiment is also SU.
